Breakfast Smoothies
The name "smoothee" or "smoothie" was used by books, magazines, and newspapers for a product made in blenders.
These smoothies all have variations. You can add almost any kind of flavor that you like. They are fast and easy to make with a blender.
Bananas have plenty of potassium. They add volume and thickness to your smoothies.
Banana Smoothie (Makes enough for 2)
2 Tablespoons vanilla protein powder
1 large frozen banana
2 cups milk
Toss everything into a blender and process for 30 seconds.
Variations: Use yogurt instead of milk. Add honey.Try 1 cup of yogurt and 1 cup fresh orange juice for a creamsicle smoothie. In place of banana use a peach or a handful of strawberries.
Blueberry Cream Smoothie
Blueberries are full of antioxidants. Grab a smoothie and go out the door in the morning.
1/2 cup vanilla yogurt
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
1 cup frozen blueberries
1/2 cup almond milk
Blend for 30 seconds
Variations: Add 1/2 cup unsweetened coconut, Use 1/4 cup frozen blueberries, 1/4 cup frozen raspberries and 1/4 cup frozen strawberries.
Chocolate Smoothie(1 serving)
Do you love chocolate? Here is a smoothie that you won't want to miss.
1/2 cup vanilla yogurt
1 Tablespoon chocolate syrup (like Hershey's)
1/2 cup low-fat chocolate milk
1 Tablespoon chocolate protein powder
1/2 frozen banana
Variations: Replace the banana with 1/2 cup frozen raspberries.
Or replace the chocolate syrup with 1 Tablespoon peanut butter.
